Google Gold

1.  My main strategies for search engine optimization was to post my link to my blog as much as possible. On every page I visited throughout this semester, I tried to relate my peers troubles with mine and send them to see my product and what my brand is all about. I also learned how to use LinkedIn and take advantage of its circles and connections.
2. I kept keywords pretty simple, labeling each post with the correct week and the correct assignment title, in some cases catered around my product.
3. I linked my blog to my LinkedIn account and Facebook account which allowed me to connect my friends and colleagues on both platforms to my product. I immediately got some recognition between my friends and family because they were interested in what I was portraying as.
4. My most viral post was "Identifying Local Opportunities" where I found news articles and commented on them, I guess I had good comments about the article.
5. Yeah I made it to the front page of google when you just search my name and blog, that's convenient.

  1. Hey Kevin,

I think your search optimization strategy was solid. All those links will definitely add up and make your blog more visible. I think one of the next steps you can take if you are serious about this is to pursue a .com domain instead of being another directory in the millions of Blogspot blogs. I think the strategy of keeping keywords simple is good if you are not operating inside a huge niche, as well. I think you are right in the comments on an article (and therefore more engagement) leading to your most viral post.
I didn't complete this assignment but check out my blog if you'd like:

  2. Hi Kevin,
I used similar strategies as I did what the assignment called for, I did not post to social media or LinkedIn. The only social media I used was Google+ and my posts often got ignored as I don’t have many people on there. I think posting your blog on Facebook was a great way to get more views and be found faster on the first page of Google.

  3. Hi Kevin,
That is a very nice picture that you used. I like the Google logo in gold. I like the simple key words that you used. It was smart of you to link you blog to Facebook and LinkedIn. I am sure that gave you a lot of page views. That is impressive that you made it to the first page of Google results. I only made it to the second page.
