Half-Way Reflection

1. Tenaciousness is a skill:
In order to be successful in this class you have to change the way you go about working on assignments. The assignments in this class don't really have a right answer. It's up to you to find out what you think is is right. You can go through the motions and just post dull assignments on your blog but then what are you getting out of the class? The answer is nothing. This is why you have to want to learn about how to become an entrepreneur. This drive is what I have learned and it is what I realized is necessary to truly understand this class.
2. Tenaciousness is also about attitude:
There are going to be times during this class that you think "What is the point of this?". I had a moment like that when we had to do our first customer interviews. I thought at first that it was such a stupid assignment. I thought it had nothing beneficial to offer me. Then I went out and I was denied an interview three times in a row. That hurt. I was down and wanted to just give up on the assignment but I didn't. Instead, I went to a different location. I found a friend of mine there and was able to get the first interview done. This gave me some hope. It made me realize that this assignment wasn't so hard.
3. Three tips:
   1. Don't be afraid to branch out and talk to strangers. Chances are you'll never see them again so don't be afraid.
   2. Be polite. Most people may think it is strange that you are approaching them. Be kind to them. For instance, if you are interviewing customers at a grocery store ask them if they want help loading with their bags.
   3. Don't be afraid that your ideas aren't going the way you planned. If an assignment works out differently, run with it. See where it goes and what learning experiences you can get from it.

  1. Hi Kevin,
I like the picture. I also like your tip about talking to strangers. That's the exact same mindset I had to put myself in before doing my first set of interviews. Tip three is some of the more unique advice I have seen, but adaptability is certainly a vital skill in the field of entrepreneurship.
