Idea Napkin No. 1

1. My name is Kevin Leddy. I have many talents that include being able to work in a team environment while also be able to take a lead role in a particular group. I am very easy to have a conversation with meaning I will be very approachable in terms of asking for instructions from my team members.  I think this business would help me make an impact for students here at the University of Florida which I find to be key for my time here.
2. The product that I want to make is an app that is called "I'm Hungry" within this app that would be available to Apple and Android products, a student would be able to search through a wide variety of recipes from beginner to advanced recipes in terms of instructions. The special thing about this app is if you were to want to make one of these recipes, you would simply click a button and type in your information to have the groceries delivered to your address in Gainesville.
3. I am offering this app to students in Gainesville because of the problems with parking, it would be very beneficial for students to leave their cars at home. However this eliminates the ease of getting food. But with "I'm Hungry" you can have your food delivered to you.
4. I think this product would be valuable because their are a lot of students that do not bring their car to campus (who live on campus) and have to resort to eating at the dinning halls or fast food but eating out can get very unhealthy. So to solve this, they can have their groceries delivered to them and a way to teach them how to make good meals.
5. I think that what sets us apart from any ordinary delivery business is that with a regular food delivery the food you are getting are unhealthy and usually expensive. College students are poor so a cheap alternative to this while also giving them the education on how to cook can be beneficial to many.

In final analysis, I think that all the elements of my business do work very well. I think that there is a huge need for a clean food delivery alternative in the Gainesville area and with the aspects of this service, these needs can be solved. I think the huge dependency on cell phones also increases the chance for success of my business idea.

  1. Hi Kevin,

I like your business idea of clean food delivery. I feel there is a growing market for pure organic “clean” food and is here to stay. Moreover I believe this market will continue grow. Have you done any research or found any analysis on “home” delivery. Although I think this is a great idea, especially for college students who experience parking issues or don’t have a vehicle, I wonder how many people are willing to spend the time cooking, etc. Maybe the companies that have already established their business with this concept such as Hello Fresh or even Schwan’s might be a great place to start. I like your idea of targeting to college students, I’m sure there is a great need. Good job!

  2. Hey Kevin!
I think that your idea is very interesting and could be very successful if implemented as a business. I agree with Joy and also believe that this is a market that will continue to grow. I feel like your business could encourage students to eat healthier, which is never a bad thing. I am glad that you're targeting college students because we have the hardest time eating right and with different recipes if we cook at all. Nice post! 3. Kevin,
Your idea for a home delivery service is great! I think that delivering the groceries is much better than an already prepared food delivery service because it can cut down on costs for your customers. I personally love the idea but do not have a kitchen to prepare any food in so maybe catering to people who can't cook would also be beneficial for your business as well. The shortage of parking is what I did my company on and definitely believe there is a need for more parking so I liked your approach to helping that situation. Overall I believe a majority of people have the resources to cook the recipes. I really like your idea though, keep up the good work!

  4. Hey Kevin, I know that there is already a company that sends out recipes for meals every week based on a budget that you select, but it is more geared towards adults and families. Adding the delivery aspect is a great idea too, so I think that you'd have some advantages, especially if you make it more affordable for college kids on a budget. Great job!
